When Stella, a 2-year-old American Staffordshire mix, was found as a stray in San Tan Valley, she had been surviving on the streets with her three puppies, protecting them from danger while clinging to an abandoned chair by a busy road. By the time she came into our care, Stella was in survival mode—her body bore scars and her eyes carried quiet pain.
With time, patience and gentle care, Stella slowly began to trust again. She learned she no longer had to fight to keep her family safe; she was safe herself. Surrounded by love, Stella transformed from a fearful survivor into a calm, affectionate companion.
