At Foothills Animal Rescue, our annual events bring together people who are passionate about animals, supporters, and the community to celebrate second chances and raise vital funds for homeless pets. From our Paws to Celebrate gala to our casual and popular Whiskers and Wine, each event plays an important role in supporting our mission to save and enrich the lives of cats and dogs in need.

831 Adoption Special
Foothills Animal Rescue’s adoption center, the Brynne Smith Memorial Campus, was built in memory of Brynne Smith, who grew up in Arizona and passed away at just 25 years old. Brynne was known for her radiant smile, generous heart and lifelong love for animals. When you visit the campus, you’ll notice the number 831. For Brynne and her family, 831 was a special way to say “I love you”—8 letters, 3 words, 1 meaning. That message of love lives on in every life saved at our rescue. Each year on the weekend leading up to August 31 (8/31), we celebrate in Brynne’s honor. It’s a weekend to remember her compassion, thank the Smith family for making the campus possible and continue her legacy of saving animals in need. Every adoption is an act of love. Every 831 is a reminder of the lives we’re changing together.

Whiskers and Wine
Foothills Animal Rescue’s most anticipated fundraising event of the year! This unforgettable evening brings together more than 250 animal lovers and advocates for a cause that truly makes a difference. Savor tastings from an incredible lineup of local restaurants, wineries, breweries and distilleries while enjoying live music, a curated silent auction and an exciting raffle—all in support of the animals who rely on us for a second chance.
