Employee Charitable Giving Programs

Reward Your Passion

As a supporter of Foothills Animal Rescue, we know your passion and commitment to helping our four legged friends is boundless.  Have your ever wondered how you could do even more to help dogs and cats in need?  What if it was as easy as letting FAR do all the work for you?  Here’s how…

Many corporations through out the country and right here at home are committed to providing philanthropic investments addressing community needs.  The companies offer various programs such as matching gifts, volunteer grants, and in-kind donations, to name just a few.  Your employer or the employer of your family members and friends very likely shares in the passion of addressing the critical needs in our community just like the needs that Foothills Animal Rescue strives to meet so here’s how some of those programs work.

Volunteer Grant Programs

Through these programs, companies honor those employees (even retired employees) who give of their time and dedication through direct grants to eligible charitable organizations. For example- AAA Insurance has a Dollars for Doers program under the Community Safety Foundation.  This is based on the Volunteer hours, its a simple as that.

Matching Gifts Programs

These programs encourage employees to contribute to qualifying charitable organizations by matching their contribution, up to set limits, thus doubling the employees’ gift.  FAR currently has a matching gift program in place with American Express employees along with Honeywell and Aetna Foundation.

American Express offers the Gift Matching Program, which provides matching funds to the charitable organizations employees personally support. To maximize the impact of employee charitable giving, American Express Philanthropy matches, dollar for dollar, donations made by eligible employees, up to $8,000 per year, to the eligible nonprofit organizations of their choice.

  • Full or part-time (at least 20 hours/week) employees with twelve consecutive months of service at American Express Company
  • Current non-employee directors of American Express Company.

Gifts from spouses are not eligible. Retirees are not eligible to participate.  Talk to Amex Human Resources regarding the Matching Gift program to learn more about how you can help your community.

In-Kind Gifts

Examples of in-kind gifts include:

  • Goods, like computers, software, furniture, and office equipment
  • Services, like meeting space (for our fund raising events), photocopy and mail services, and administrative/financial support.
  • Expertise, like legal, tax, or business advice, marketing and web site development and strategic planning.

All of these programs can help with the various needs of dogs and cats in our care.  Needs such as dental, medical, surgical, emergency health care, geriatric care, grooming, providing clean, comfortable, aesthetically pleasing environments, the list is endless but you can help by simply providing the names of the companies that you, your family and friends work for.  The team at Foothills Rescue will make the appropriate inquiries and let you know what programs are available through your employer.
