Bequests
Your beloved pets have been a large part of your life. They played with you when you had energy and they made you laugh with their antics. Perhaps they even sat quietly with you, comforting you with their presence when you were sad or ill.
Before you pass over the rainbow bridge to join the pets that have pre-deceased you, please think of those who will be left behind. In many states, including Arizona, pets are generally considered property to be disposed of as your heirs or executor deems appropriate. However, you can establish a pet trust for your current pets to ensure they are cared for as you would if you were still here.
Once your heirs and living pets are remembered, please consider leaving a gift from your estate to help care for the thousands of loving yet homeless cats and dogs who will likely be euthanized simply because there are no homes or resources to care for them. A gift from your estate can be your most lasting legacy, a tribute to the lifetime love you’ve had for your furry-faced friends. A gift from your estate will ensure the long term sustainability of the mission of Foothills Animal Rescue.
You should consult your financial advisor regarding your particular situation. For further information about FAR please contact Linda Fitch, Executive Director at 480-588-9890.
