About
Foothills Animal Rescue is committed to compassionate and humane treatment of dogs and cats in need through rescue, shelter, fostering and adoption within Maricopa County.
FAR maintains a no-kill policy and all animals are cared for until such time as a suitable adoption is arranged.
All animals offered for adoption by FAR have been given medical attention and are in good health. Adoption fees are used to directly save more animals.
Dogs are vaccinated (including rabies) neutered or spayed, microchipped, tested for erhlichia/heartworm and given any medical care needed. The adoption fee for one dog up is $225 and also includes a directional collar and leash, a discount on your first purchase of food and 30 days of free insurance through Shelter Care.
Cats are vaccinated, tested for FeLV/FIV, spayed or neutered, microchipped and given any medical care needed. The adoption fee for one cat age 1 year and older is $35; kittens one year and under are $75.
The majority of animals taken into FAR’s care have had medical issues ranging from simple colds to critical care. We are proud to have a philosophy of the non-destruction of handicapped and challenged animals.
